The audio in this video is an example of a mix of the sound board feed along with audio captured with our Rode Stereo Videomic. Both audio samples were captured separately, directly into cameras. The post production mix of the two audio samples using Adobe Audition is what is evidenced here. It has the clarity that comes from a sound board feed, along with the ambient sounds created at a live performance.

This video was captured using 2 stationary cameras. One was set as a mono-static full view of the stage, while the other was set to a mono-static close up view of center stage. Also utilized in the capture were 2 cameras on top of mobile supports to capture B Roll footage. Microphone location was approx. 40 feet from the front of the stage.

Great Intentions But Poor Execution Ruined My Own Birthday Gift

This video, I shot very early on in my learning process for capturing video. I tried something a bit different this night to increase capacity. I did not know of this issue, or saw the results, until it was too late.

This specific song, one of my favorites from this band, I have only heard them perform twice in the 10+ years I have known them. This night, this performance, was the last time they performed this song.

Watch this all the way through, so you can see how poorly it was captured. How poorly the memory of my own birthday gift from this band, was saved. Now imagine that nice Uncle of yours, possibly unintentionally doing the same for your irreplaceable occasion.

If I made this mistake and did this to my own birthday gift, anyone could make the same mistake, as easy and as unintentional as it was.
